We needed a second shelf in the basement when I stumbled across this 4 tier shelf. Since we greatly prefer stainless steel shelves because of their sturdiness and ability to handle damp sometimes damp conditions, I went ahead and ordered one. The unit came well packaged and even the shelf sections had protective film on them. All pieces and hardware necessary for installation were included. There are some tools also included that we did use as well as our own normal sized tools. Full assembly is required and having a second pair of hands is almost a must. Instructions are included and they are good enough to get the unit built without too much trouble. We chose to assemble the unit on its side on the floor and it made things so much easier. The most difficult and time consuming part of assembly was removing the plastic protective film from each shelf. The shelves are well constructed of all metal and for our home-use purposes they are heavy duty. They can also hold quite a bit of weight including metal cans etc. The size of the shelving unit is good, quite versatile, and can be placed in a variety of locations – such as garage or kitchen – based on your particular needs. We placed it in a basement with an uneven floor and the individually adjusting feet were invaluable as we were able to customize it for maximum stability. Once we were done the shelf was very stable and sturdy. Shelves are somewhat height-adjustable, 3 preset positions) which is nice if you have taller items that you need to place on them.
